Study Group Session 3 Summary

27 November 2025

The 3rd Study Group Session of ATF SG 2025 was held on 26 November 2025 and served both as a recap of recent regional developments and as a strategic planning session for ATF SG 2026. The session combined updates from the FI Leads and Secretariat, reflections on external engagements, and member consultation on the format and priorities for the coming year.

At the outset, the Secretariat provided updates on key regional developments, including progress related to the ERIA–ADB–METI collaborative report and outcomes from the AZEC Ministerial Meeting. These discussions highlighted the increasing regional focus on transition pathways, investment mobilization, and cross-border cooperation. The session also briefly recapped ATF SG’s engagement in major events during the year, including the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW), ABAC-related discussions, and developments toward COP30, reinforcing the Study Group’s role in contributing technical inputs to broader regional dialogues. These engagements highlighted the growing regional emphasis on transition pathways, investment mobilization, and cross-border cooperation. Building on these updates, the session shifted toward shaping ATF SG 2026. This session also formally launched the nomination process for the 2026 FI Lead(s).

In conclusion, Study Group Session#3 confirmed broad alignment among members on both the structural and thematic direction of ATF SG 2026. Building on the momentum of 2025, ATF SG 2026 is expected to further strengthen its role as a regional forum for advancing actionable transition finance solutions across Asia.
